Fun Food Friday!!!

Guess what's back, back again? Fun Food Friday's back, tell a friend...

*Yes I did just put something to the tune of eminem, dont' judge me*

Kaeden had been complaining about a sore throat since Wednesday night. At first I thought he was just being full of drama, but we decided to put his humidifier on just incase. The next day he was still complaining but fine, he just didn't want to eat much. So we sent him off to school and decided to go into town for lunch. Right after lunch, we got a call from the school nurse that he had thrown up on the playground at recess and had a fever. I was a little shocked. Right when we got home Chad put him in a cool bath and gave him some motrin. We took his temp right when he got out and he didn't have one. He hasn't had one or vomited since. (Thank God!) He came into our room crying this morning though, so I called the doctor and they did a strep test (still waiting on results) but the doctor said he looked fine and gave us a note that he could return to school. Hopefully whatever he has passes quickly as he has no intrest in eating...which brings me to FUN FOOD FRIDAY!!!! I made a bad ass rainbow out of fruit and some rockin quesadilla clouds. He didn't eat but maybe two bites. Poor kiddo. :(

Tonight we have team soccer pictures, so hoepfully those turn out well even though he isn't feeling his best.

Brennan is still doing great. We are so blessed and I truly mean blessed to have him. I look back at the fact that they told me he was in my tubes and I went into surgery and I just know that God wanted us to have him becuase he truly is a little miracle baby. I have been trying to get a good picture for our birth annoucements but haven't come across the "perfect" one yet. I am however getting pee'd on more than I ever have before due to the amount of naked pictures I try to capture. I'm also keeping up with the laundry becuase of this, HAHA! Here are a couple pics I've snapped over the last couple days.

I love this picture so much! We were trying to get Brennan to look at the camera so Kaeden was trying to hold his head up. Instead it looks like he is punching funny!

My big boy
He weighs 44lb and is 44.5 inches. This means he has grown an inch a month since his birthday :O

Took this photo today. I really like it, but would have loved a naked baby better. ;)

Monday Bowling Fun

Yesterday we went bowling to get out of the house and to spend some time with Kaeden doing something fun. It's really important to us that we still show him the attention and love that he so much deserves. He did pretty well once Chad taught him that it's about rolling the ball and not throwing it down. I swear he somehow jumped the bumpers not once, but twice! I actually bowled really well, I got a turkey-never happened before in my LIFE. I also bowled over 100 all 3 games, also probably never happened LOL! Chad had a tough few games he just could not get a strike to save his life, it was 9 every time. (Don't worry he still beat me!)

Brennan slept the whole time.

Brennan found his thumb last night. I'm not an advocate of thumb sucking becuase of the damage it can do to teeth; I would much rather him take a pacifier but holy cow it was ADORABLE.

Today Kaeden came home from school singing the hokey pokey. He is so, so funny. I am so blessed to have these boys in my life, Chad included. Kaeden's reading is really improving. He has such a passion for learning right now that I really hope sticks with him. After he did his homework he wanted to sit down and do a workbook that grandma and grandpa had sent him. He probably did the last 10 or so pages until he had finished it. When he got to fill out the completion certificate on the back he was so proud of himself. I love seeing that confidence in him!

Brennan is still sleeping and eating well, his jaundice seems to be improving. He gets a little bit more alert each day. We have his circumcision next Tuesday and his two week check up (and shots) next Wednesday. I hope both of those things go well as I know neither day will be a happy one for him.

Brennan's 1 week pictures

>Brennan will be a week old how time flies. I took some one week pictures outside today. I like how they turned out given I have no formal photography or editing skills.

It's goooooaaaaallllll!!!!!

I'm pretty sure Kaeden has had a stellar day today! We went to his soccer game at 9:00 this morning (man it's hard to get going and get everyone out of the house by then!) He played really hard and really well, he even scored a goal. He was SO proud of himself and very excited! We took him to Toys R Us afterward to use a reward certificate we had and he was able to get a new webkinz he had been asking for. I love walking out of TRU not spending a dime. We also went to McDonalds for lunch as a treat. While Brennan napped in the swing I was able to spend some one on one time with him reading and it felt so good to just sit and snuggle. Today he was such a character too, on the way to soccer he sneezed about 3-4 times and Chad said something like "What is making you sneeze so much?", he said "Maybe I'm allergic to baby Brennan." HA! We also caught him today singing Jerrod Neimann's "One more drinkin song", let's hope that's an "at home" song and not a "take to school" song. :D

Brennan had his "first bath" today. It was just a sponge bath as he still has his cord.

Look at the bubbles:

This is probably is my new favorite picture:

Fun Food Friday Failure

I didn't forget about it, but Brennan had a doctor appointment this morning than ran much later than I had expected; so no FFF. Luckily Kaeden didn't seem to notice or I really would have felt bad.

At Brennan's appointment today we found out he is slightly jaundice, but it's not too bad (as of yet) so hopefully with a little sunlight each day and continued feedings he will be good to go soon. He weighed 8lb 4oz and was 20.6 inches long. The doctor was please with where his weight was so that makes me happy as well.

Kaeden is doing so well in school and I'm so proud of him. He comes home and talks about things he did or learned a little bit more each day. It makes me so happy to hear the songs or nursery rhymes they learn or to watch him read their little books. He is adjusting so well to having a baby in the house and I'm just so thankful for a remarkable kid.

So far having a newborn in the house is going well. We are getting some sleep at night which is a God send, it really is. I don't want to rush anything with him, but I am hoping he will start sleeping in the bassinet better; I miss snuggling up next to Chad.

Kaeden has a soccer game tomorrow. I hope they do a little bit better this week than they did last week, bless their hearts it just didn't go well.

Here are some pics of Brennan from yesterday (4 days old):

Brennan Knox :D

We are finally home! Everything seems to be going very well. Last night was a little hard as Brennan wanted to cluster feed until like 3am, but we got through it. Chad has the next 2 weeks off, so I know I'm going to love that but hope it doesn't spoil me too much. Here are some pictures of our new little family!

Fun Food Friday!!!

So I was very unprepared for Fun Food Friday so I was flying by the seat of my pants!

It's a bacon and grilled cheese robot. While it may not look like much, Kaeden has just devoured it in a matter of minutes. Bacon is never a a bad idea in his eyes. I have no idea what's up with the rainbow of bacon above Mr. Robot, but it was there when I went to get K's drink in the kitchen and gone when I came back. I also don't know what's up with the kiwi but it needed some more fruit so there ya go!

I went to the doctor yesterday, and was actually seen, woo hoo! Brennan's heartbeat is sounding good. I am 4 cm, 80% effaced, and he is at 0 station. I knew my little bitty had dropped! It was a total difference between the morning and the evening. So....I'm not sure when I'll be going into labor as at this point, I was being admitted to the hospital with KP. Such a different pregnancy for sure.

Eventually there will be a blog post that says, "I'm in labor"!!

Kaeden's first official soccer game is tomorrow morning. Also UT takes on Florida. Out of all the SEC teams I hate the's Florida. I don't why, I just dispise the Gators. I have a feeling with as many freshman players as Tennessee has it's going to be an awful, messy game.

How to make a pregnant woman cry

Step One: Call her 45 minutes before her appointment and say....we need to push your appointment back an hour.

This is fine because I hadn't left the house just yet.

Step TWO: After she drives 35 miles to get there say, "Oh we need to reschedule you." WTH! Then ask her "Do you want to come in tomorrow or next week?" Um, I'm 38 weeks pregnant what do you think?!

So I proceeded to cry cause I was so mad/upset. I know it's not my doctor's fault, she was on call and babies needed to be spanked. I just wish I didn't have to waste 70 miles of fuel.

I'm feeling lots of pressure and back pain today, maybe I've made some more progress...maybe not.

Here's some happy news, Kaeden read his first book today!! :D It's just a decodables book, but I don't care reading is reading! I'll try to post a video of it soon!

Chad coached his soccer team tonight since the regular coach had a meeting and I was so proud of him. I thought he did an awesome job keeping 7 five year olds on track!

That's all I've got for now. I have a dr appointment scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, hopefully it doesn't get cancelled.

Weekend recap

I pretty much slept this weekend away. I'm so exhausted. I'm sure you'll be hearing that from me a lot in the next coming months.

I have not had Brennan yet in case you were thinking of asking. I am addicted enough to the internet to at least let people know.

I got a package from my friend Mitzi with lots of baby goodies on Saturday. Very thankful for her and the baby goodies. Much, much love!

Kaeden's soccer game was cancelled on Saturday due to rain/hail/lightning/thunder. I know, rain in the desert-crazy. I took pictures like it was some sort of parade. Sometimes I don't know whats wrong with me...but here it is!!

That's hail!!

Luckily the power went out in the middle of the night and not the middle of my Tennessee game. Those boys are looking fairly good this year. I will revel in their victory now because I have a feeling next weeks game against Florida won't be so hot.

I am pretty much so big now, and not to mention lazy, I don't want to bend down to dry the water from my legs after a bath so I use my hair dryer. Yep, I'm so ready.

Kaeden used a new word combination on me this weekend, it was "penis hole". Let me use it in a sentence, "Mommy can you tell me if my penis hole is over the toilet so I don't pee on the seat." I did have to leave the bathroom for this one in order to compose myself.

Nothing much going on this week other than the regular soccer practices and my doctor appointment on Wednesday, which means a fairly quiet blog week!

Fun Food Friday & Opening Soccer Ceremony

Fun food Friday! Woo hoo!

It's supposed to be a crab coming out of the water with seaweed. Make of it what you will. Now that Kaeden knows we have "fun" food on Friday, he is very critical and over my shoulder about every aspect of it. He said it didn't look like a crab, but a dog. Yeah. Whatever. You're 5...I'm 27. I've seen WAY more crabs than you. And that is totally a bagel crab.

This evening we also have opening soccer ceremonies and a scrimmage game! I was so suprised at the hustle that came from my chid and he even scored! YAY!!!! Here are some pics from the event.

Yep, that's my goofy kiddo :D

His team with their banner :)

I guess this is his victory dance because this was after he scored LOL!

Kaeden and his friend Ramon. They are on seperate teams but both #2!!

Seriously, how much cuter can they be?!

No news on the baby front. I'm thankful a nice soccer mom gave me her chair otherwise I would have had to be on the bleachers myself, and I learned a valuable lesson...bring your own chair. We are supposed to get rain/thunderstorm tomorrow. I will believe it when I see it!!

K's first soccer game is bright and early in the AM! I hope he plays as well as he did today!

Wow! 21 days until due date!

I found out some really bad news yesterday. It's nothing that affects me (or my family) directly, but you know how sometimes you just hear something and it breaks your heart...yeah that happened :( I can not get it off my mind and it's even been causing me complete panic and chaos in my own little world. I've been trying to stay calm knowing that God's will is going to be done whether or not I stress about it or not.

I had a doctor appointment yesterday, everything went well. I have progressed a little more. She said I was dilated to 3.5 getting close to 4 which is what I thought she said last week but when I looked on the computer it was noted as '3'. I was also 70-80% effaced. Which isn't anything different than what I was when we went to the hospital on Sunday. She didn't tell me the station and I was just so happy I was going to make it to 37 weeks I didn't ask! So since progress is going slowly, I think I'll have a little bit longer. I just hope my back stops hurting, but I'm guessing that isn't going to happen.

This week seems to be shaping up to be semi busy, which I really appreciate. Kaeden has soccer tonight and they are making the banner for the soccer ceremony that happens on Friday night. I have my first PTO meeting on Thursday (super excited!). Kaeden's first soccer game is Saturday morning, hopefully that turns out adorable.

False Alarm

I had contractions every 10 minutes apart for a couple hours last night, so Chad and I headed off to the hospital. Since we live a pretty good drive away, I really don't want to take any chances. The contractions I've been having have not been effective at getting things progressing any more than they already have, so after some monitoring and a quick ultrasound to make sure everything looked good we were sent home. I have a doctor appointment tomorrow anyway.I do not plan on saying anything on the blog, facebook or calling people until I know we are going to be admitted. Please respect this.

In other news we got Kaeden's soccer schedule, and his first game is this Saturday at 9:00am. I am SO excited :D My mom also booked her trip today after thankfully the prices came back down. I am very glad she is coming out to visit!

Fun Food Friday!

YAY I did it 2 weeks in a row! I feel accomplished :)

Kaeden was not as impressed with this one, but I liked it much better.

I have been feeling very....grumpy for a lack of a better term. My hormones are just all over the place and I'm feeling really angry one minute then I'm crying the next. It's really hard to get a hold of, but I'm trying.

I had a good friend drop by my house while I was gone taking KP to school and left me some football shaped oreos and chocolate milk. Seriously, if there is ONE thing that can cheer up a grumpy's CHOCOALTE!

I don't really have much to report except my contractions have been about every 30-40minutes this afternoon. Chad is thinking I'll go into labor on Sunday. I don't think it will be quite that soon, but then again I didn't even know I was in labor with what do I know?! As long as Brennan comes safe, healthy and happy that's all that matters. Well, I would like to give birth in a hospital too.
